Best Painting Books |

I own every one of these painting books and recommend them all. The best two are on the top, the rest in no particular order. |

Master Class in WatermediaThis book from Edward Betts is the most wonderful compilation of acrylic techniques for semi-abstract and abstract painting. An enormous amount of information. See if you can get your hands on a copy. Price fluctuates because out of print. My review here. |
Celebrate Your Creative SelfThis book is full of so many creative projects for acrylic paints and mediums that it would take several lifetimes to complete them all. My review here. |

The New AcrylicsRecommended by an acrylic paint chemist as having correct information (unlike some other acrylic paint books) |
Creative Paint WorkshopA book for those who want to incorporate collage in their paintings. |
||
Art RevolutionUnusual painting projects incorporating everything from digital art to assemblage. |
Watercolor Painting Outside the LinesA beautiful and unusual book about negative painting (painting the negative space around an object). |
||
Confident ColorIn my opinion, the best book on colour. Readable, beautiful examples - anything by Nita Leland is good. |
