The New Creative ArtistWhen I got my first Nita Leland Creative Artist book, I had it by my bed for 6 months and never got past Chapter One. That was because I would read a paragraph or so and go off into the realms of creativity. Highly recommended.

Cathy Johnston's Watercolour Tricks & TechniquesRecommended by Cynthia Padilla as so good a watercolour book as she uses it in her acrylic classes. I've ordered it

Unique Handmade BooksThis was my first book on making my own handmade books. It was an excellent choice. |
Creating Handmade BooksI borrowed this one from the library and had to buy it. It has an extremely good selection of book structures. |
||
Expressive Handmade BooksI also own this one. While it is as good as the other two, I would advise that you don't need all three. Anything by Alisa Golden is excellent, but there is an overlap of structures. Choose the two that appeal to you. |
Cover to CoverWhile I don't own this book, a friend does. Shereen LaPlantz wrote two excellent books on the art of making handmade books and this is one to have a good look at.

The Art & Craft of Handmade BooksI own this book and I really like it, though it has some errors (read ON - see below). The thing that is special about it, is the blue sections where the author explains about things such as abcderians, colophons and many other book related things. Shereen LaPlantz was unhappy about the number of errors in the published book and provides corrections here. (The errors haven't caused me any problem.) |
Confident ColorI own the previous version of this book Exploring Color. Nita Leland makes colour accessible with lots of beautiful examples. Anything by Nita Leland is recommended.
